The root of Astragalus membranaceus, an herb that grows in northern China, has been used for over 2000 years to strengthen the body as a whole. Astragalus is believed in traditional Chinese herbal therapy to strengthen muscle and improve metabolic functions. One of the most important herbs globally, Astragalus has been widely recognized as a potent immune system tonic.
Astragalus promotes natural healing. It activates human immune cells, enhances functioning of natural killer cells and facilitates a normal balance of immune functions. As an adaptogen, Astragalus helps with normal stress adaptation. It may help with maintenance of appetite and normal body weight, as well as countering fatigue.
